“I Lose the Stand-Off” is from the Inaugural Exhibition “ROAM,” by African Wildlife Photographer and Filmmaker, Xtina Parks. This photograph was taken in South Africa, while the photographer was working on conservation efforts for elephants and African painted wolves. This moment in time was captured while she was being charged by an entire herd of testy elephants, whom she loves with all her heart.

The goal of Xtina Parks’ photography is to capture the individual characters of African endangered species in their ever dwindling, natural habitats, to hopefully help us know more about unique feelings, cares, desires, and thoughts that animals have, just like humans do. Her most important goal in life is to help wildlife be free to ROAM
Xtina Parks' Gallery is located on the campus of MASS MoCA, in North Adams, Massachusetts. A portion of Xtina Parks’ photography sales at this gallery are donated to WildAid.
