Abilis is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides services and supports for over 700 individuals with special needs and their families from birth through the life span. Abilis has been a leader in serving the special needs community in lower Fairfield County for 67 years and has a long-standing reputation for high quality care. WHAT WE DO
Abilis provides early intervention and customized therapies, to help individuals achieve important developmental milestones through our Therapeutic Services programs. As individuals approach and enter adulthood, we provide a wide range of Life Services programs, including recreational activities, transition and life skills support, job training, competitive and supported employment, and a choice of residential options. WHERE WE OPERATE
Abilis Life Services programs are based at our Greenwich headquarters, while our Therapeutic Services programs are run out of our Therapy Center in Stamford. Our Life Skills programs designed for young adults with special needs who've graduated from high school, are centrally located in Greenwich, Stamford, Ridgefield, Westport, and Wilton. Abilis manages 35 residential facilities in Greenwich, Norwalk and Stamford and works with numerous schools, civic organizations, and other community partners to deliver programs to individuals and families when and where they need them most.
Abilis provides people with developmental disabilities and their families in lower Fairfield County with supports and advocacy for building able lives and strong communities.
