We're going high-tech at Homeward Bound!

It was such a great experience last year that we've brought it back for this year's event.  We heard rave reviews about the ease of bidding, including keeping up with bidding, that allowed everyone to circulate and spend more time enjoying the amazing food and beverages! For new guests or those who can't quite remember, we want you to feel comfortable so we've put together a list of Frequently Asked Questions to answer any of your concerns.

Do I have to download an app to my phone?
NO! All bidding is done through 501Auctions mobile bidding site.  You'll be sent a text message with a link to the site. From there you just use the big, bright buttons to bid on items, add items to your watch list, or make a donation.

I purchased tickets for myself and my spouse. Do we both still need to register to participate?
When you purchase a ticket, you are automatically registered to bid; however, your spouse has not been registered. You will need to decide if you would like to bid together on the same profile or separately. If you would like to bid together, then you are done! At the event please come to check in and we can attach a second phone to your bidding profile if needed. If you are planning on bidding separately, then please follow the registration link to register the second profile.

How is my credit card data kept secure?
You'll be asked at registration to swipe a credit card in case you win an item at the auction.  Your card will not be charged unless you win or purchase something at Homeward Bound.  All credit card information is securely stored and then deleted after the event. You can always change your payment method at check out.

Why do you need my email address?
Your email address will be used to send you a receipt for anything that you've won at Homeward Bound.  This will be sent immediately after the event for your tax purposes.

Why do you need my cell phone number?
We use your cell phone number to send you a text message so you can access the mobile bidding site and manage all your bids. If you don't want to use your cell phone, there will be bidding assistants in the room with iPads to help you bid.

How do I know if I've been outbid?
You'll receive a text message if you've been outbid on an item which will allow you to immediately increase your bid or set a maximum bid amount.

How do I know if I've won an item?
You'll receive a text message when the auction closes letting you know that you need to come to checkout if you've won an item.
