One bottle of Boeschen 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon. This Cabernet, which was produced in very limited quantities, is smooth from start to finish with robust berry and fruit flavors. It is full-bodied with nice acidity and gripping tannins that lead to a long finish.Drink from now through 2026. It is only available on allocation to club members.
One bottle of Caymus 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and is one of the most popular wines for wine lovers in the USA. It has a full-bodied palate, with soft velvety tannins and just enough freshness, finishing very long and very spicy. Can be enjoyed right away. Average critics rating of 93.
One bottle of Pio Cesare 2013 Barolo. This wine is 100% Nebbiolo grapes, and has lovely sweetness with black and red fruits and a touch of tar. Nicely ripe, structured and fresh, this is judiciously balanced and weighted. There is good acidity and firm-ish tannins to frame the fruit. A wonderful food wine. Drink now until 2030. Average critics score of 94.
One bottle of Donum Carneros 2013 Pinot Noir. The flavors of this Pinot Noir fan out, extending the snappy wild berry and blackberry to touches of spice and light oak. Most impressive are the depth, density and length of the finish. Drink now through 2022. Average critics score of 92.
One bottle of La Gibryotte Gevrey-Chambertin 2009 Pinot Noir. This wine is made from Pinot Noir grapes from the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin, in the Cote de Nuits subregion of Burgundy. There were no reviews available, but it is dry, with medium tannins and acidity. Drink now or until 2025.
One bottle of McCaymus Vineyards Mt Veeder Chardonnay 2015. Aromatic notes of lime zest, wet slate, fresh vanilla, and lemon candy mark the nose. The powerful palate is supported by bracing acidity and multiple citrus fruits—key lime, kumquat, and seville orange. Secondary flavors of pine, oyster shell, and flint make for a complex and exciting Chardonnay. There is an almost-silent note of French oak in the background. Mount Veeder(1800 and 2000 feet in elevation) is a one-of-a-kind appellation with a cooler mountain climate and some of the lowest yields in Napa Valley. Ranking of 94 by James Suckling.
