Adventure Team Challenge – Powered by American Portfolios and World TEAM Sports

Under the leadership of Lon Dolber, The Center for Discovery has partnered with American Portfolios (AP) and World TEAM Sports since 2010 to present the Adventure Team Challenge for disabled athletes and residents of The Center for Discovery.  Groups of Center athletes train in the months preceding the event, which has taken place at the Frost Valley YMCA Camp in the Catskills or on The Center’s campus and culminates in a series of athletic, recreational and outdoor experiences to provide a sense of achievement and teamwork for those with significant physical and behavioral disabilities.  In addition to the generous financial underwriting, a number of American Portfolio employees have volunteered to serve as team members and assist Center staff in providing essential logistical support leading up to these events and throughout its implementation.  This support not only includes American Portfolio employees, but has grown over the years to include AP family, friends, disabled veterans and others.
