This lot benefits: Habitat for Humanity of Walton County
When you work with Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation, it’s a true partnership in many ways that aren’t always apparent to the public. Did you know that the wood used to make the auction floors you’re standing on today will be repurposed and used on the next Habitat for Humanity Home?
Travel across the pond to Scotland and begin a journey through one of the world’s most picturesque countries. Three couples will enjoy six nights touring some of the most beautiful landmarks guided by Alan Fee and playing a round on the internationally acclaimed St Andrews golf course.
Start your trip in historic Edinburgh with two nights at The Balmoral, a prestigious address, famous for its timeless elegance and glamour. Spend your first day touring the “Medieval and Georgian” city followed by a visit to the Queen’s official residence and the home of Scottish royal history, The Palace of Holyroodhouse. Explore the palace’s close associations with some of Scotland’s most well-known historical figures such as Mary Queen of Scots and Bonnie Prince Charlie, and learn how today it is used by The Queen when carrying out official engagements in Scotland. The following day, a private guide will show you Edinburgh Castle.
Your tee times await at St Andrews, the next stop on your agenda. For more than 600 years, St Andrews Links has felt the tread of every great champion and flinched as millions of golfers have hammered and hacked, swatted and swiped at balls of wood, leather, and balata. It has felt the caress of hickory and the sharp assault of steel and titanium. It is a living, breathing timeline with every single person who walks upon it an integral part of the history, love, and passion for the property.
Your home for two nights, the 520-acre, five-star Fairmont St Andrews resort encapsulates luxury, elegance and truly breathtaking surroundings in the ‘Home of Golf.’ Enjoy this truly unique and special venue that makes your visit one to remember, with its lavish and stunning surroundings, peaceful setting, and stunning cliff-top views of St Andrews and the North Sea.
Head northwest with your tour guide, stopping at one of the best preserved historic towns in Scotland, Birnham & Dunkeld. Enjoy the town’s breathtaking surroundings and lively art and music scene before enjoying lunch at the Fonab Castle & Spa in Pitlochry, a town located in the heart of Scotland with rich clan history. Continue north and across the “Highland line” to Culloden Battlefield. From there, you’ll head southwest along Loch Ness and enjoy the next two nights at the beautiful 19th century Inverlochy Castle surrounded by the luscious evergreen trees in Fort William.
During a trip to Balmoral in 1873, Queen Victoria spent a week at Inverlochy sketching, painting, and detailing in her diaries that she “never saw a lovelier or more romantic spot.” Nestling in the foothills of the mighty Ben Nevis, Inverlochy Castle sits amidst some of Scotland’s finest scenery.
Board the Jacobite steam train, recognized by its cameo in the Harry Potter movies, to Mallaig, where you’ll travel by ferry over the sea to Skye for a tour and lunch at Talisker Distillery.
Spend your final day taking a tour of Ben Nevis Distillery before heading southeast back towards Edinburgh. Pass through Glencoe and over the Rannoch Moor, one of the last great European wilderness expanses before returning to the Balmoral Hotel for one final night.
