Community-Word Project is pleased to honor HBO, our partner-in-education for 15 years, and Community-Word Project's Board Member Katherine Wolf at our 17th Annual Benefit: Writing Our Future for their commitment to arts education. Our honorable Co-Chairs are Nicole Bray, Susanne Russotto, Annie Shapero, and Joshua Wright.
Community-Word Project has taught more than 20,000 students since its founding in 1997.
Community-Word Project Teaching Artists use creative learning through the arts to build community and make the classroom a safe, creative space where each student is engaged in learning. Establishing a constructive community with their peers allows our students to express ideas with confidence and discover the power of teamwork.
Community-Word Project's diverse arts program - including creative writing, visual arts, music, and performance - provides students with multiple approaches to learning, challenging them to make their voices heard and providing opportunities to be successful learners.
