Mary Parent, Legendary Entertainment
MARY PARENT is the Vice Chairman of Worldwide Production at Legendary Entertainment overseeing all aspects of film, television, digital, mobile and new media. She has had box office as well as critically acclaimed success with releases such as Kong: Skull Island and an Oscar-winning VR installation, entitled Carne y Arena, with one of her creative collaborators, Alejandro González Iñárritu.
Previously, she was founder and CEO of Disruption Entertainment, where she produced THE REVENANT, for which she received an Oscar nomination and won both a Golden Globe and BAFTA. In addition, she produced THE SPONGEBOB MOVIE: SPONGE OUT OF WATER, GODZILLA, NOAH and PACIFIC RIM, which were all commercial and critical successes.
Prior to that, she served as Vice Chairman of Worldwide Production at Universal Pictures where she oversaw the start of franchises like The Fast & The Furious as well as The Bourne Identity, then later became the Chairman and CEO of MGM. With over 20 years of experience, Mary has been involved as either an executive or producer in films across all genres amassing over $20 billion at the global box office.
Being an active member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as well as the Producers Guild of America, Mary consistently appears on various to-watch lists such as Hollywood Reporter’s 100 Most Powerful Women in Entertainment, Wall Street Journal’s 50 Women to Watch and Vanity Fair’s New Establishment List.
