When Buzz Aldrin stepped onto the moon in 1969, he was wearing an OMEGA Speedmaster – the chronograph that has been known as the Moonwatch ever since.
This timepiece has a unique place in the history of space exploration – it’s been used in all of NASA’s piloted space missions, from Gemini to the International Space Station program. Of all the watches tested for space in 1965, it was the only one to pass every test.
First introduced in 1957, the Speedmaster has become perhaps the most iconic watch in the world. Known for its robust reliability and timeless design, it’s still powered by virtually the same hand-wound movement as those worn on the moon.
This particular Moonwatch is even more special – the presentation box is signed by none other than Buzz himself.
