Tom Johnson has been a photographer for as long as he can remember. He honed his craft as director of visual research for international branding firm Desgrippes Gobe, and first created his own darkroom in his suburban Chicago home as a teenager. He never looked back. Tom's photos have been featured in numerous publications, including HX, Next, Odyssey, Paper, and Out. If you have eaten or drank at VYNL, Hell's Kitchen, Barrage, Nanoosh, Madison Avenue's Better Baker, Therapy, B Side, El Centro, Cantina, or B Squared—or read the New York Times—you have experienced elements of his portfolio of graphic, interior, and lighting design. His photographs range from playful, colorful still-lives, to ones that artfully capture soft, expressive, stories, rich in mood and texture. Tom is a current restaurant owner, designer, and photographer.
