Aisha Tandiwe Bell is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the idea of fragmented and multiple identities from the perspectives of race, sex, gender, and class. Combining both ceramics and painting in her figurative works, she has also conjure the realms of myth and ritual. Bell has had solo exhibitions at the Corridor Gallery, Brooklyn; Hunter Project Room, NY; and in galleries in Jackson, MS and Birmingham, AL. Her group exhibitions include those at MoCADA and FiveMyles Gallery, both Brooklyn; Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, Governors Island, NY; Rush Arts Gallery, NY; and Art Basel, Miami. She will take part in the BRIC Biennial exhibition opening in November.
